Rawalpindi and Islamabad witnessed rain on Wednesday, after which the cold wave gripped the twin cities.
Rawalpindi was draped in a pristine white landscape, as a severe hailstorm had covered numerous areas. The accumulation of hail was evident on roads, streets, and rooftops, transforming the city into a winter wonderland.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts an extended period of precipitation and mountainous snowfall, anticipating the wintry conditions to persist until February 4.

Earlier, the department's advisory warned of potential rain and snowfall in Balochistan on February 2 and 3, posing the risk of flooding in certain areas. Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, and Galiat are also expected to experience snowfall, accompanied by the threat of landslides and road closures, particularly in Galiyat and northern regions.
In addition to Balochistan and the northern areas, rainfall is forecasted in parts of Sindh, including Islamabad, the Potohar region, south and central Punjab, and Karachi. All relevant authorities have been notified to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
