As the clock ticks down to the country's crucial general elections on Thursday, the final stages of logistical preparations are underway.
District returning officers across the country have begun distributing election materials, including ballot papers, to presiding officers at polling stations.
In Jhang district, over 1.7 million voters will cast their ballots for three national and seven provincial assembly seats. The DRO concerned has initiated the distribution process, ensuring all materials are securely transported under police guard.
Returning officers from Lahore's various constituencies are collecting polling materials at the DC office after which it will be handed over to presiding officers from 18 locations in Lahore. Strict security measures are in place, with 29,000 cameras installed to monitor polling stations and deter disruptions. The Lahore commissioner personally visited polling stations late night to ensure adherence to the election code of conduct.
The polling material will be delivered to 14 constituencies of the National Assembly and 30 constituencies of the provincial assembly in Lahore today.
Nine dispatch centers established in seven districts are facilitating the distribution of polling materials. Election staff began reporting to the centers today, receiving materials under police and Rangers supervision. Media access to the Karachi Expo Center, a key distribution hub, was restricted, but private transport is allowed for transporting materials to polling stations.
