Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced on Wednesday that his party will sit in the opposition.
Addressing the press conference in Islamabad, Rehman said: "The JUI-F Central Executive Committee (CEC), which lasted two days, had denounced the poll results.".
Ruling out the possibility of an alliance with the political parties, Rehman said: "We are not going to have any alliance with any party."
He vowed that his party would continue to play its role in parliament. Rehman had also invited PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to join hands with him in opposition.
"We are not subordinate to the PML-N and PPP," he said.
"If the establishment feels that the elections were transparent, then it means that the narrative of May 9 has been buried. The ECP was held hostage by the establishment," Rehman asserted.
He took a dig at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), saying, "We denounce the ECP's claims of holding transparent polls in the country."
He said: "The meeting of JUI-F was scheduled for February 22 in Islamabad, followed by a huddle in Balochistan on February 25.".
"On February 27, the JUI-F will hold its meeting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," he added.
"The party will also hold its meeting in Sindh on March 3, while in Lahore, the meeting will be held on March 5," Rehman said.
