In an important meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee on Thursday, discussions were held regarding potential alliances with various political parties.
One of the major points of contention in the meeting was the proposed alliance with Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) in the Centre. While the matter was deliberated upon extensively, a significant portion of the core committee expressed reservations and opposition towards any association with the MWM.
Instead, deliberations were initiated for forging new alliances in the federation, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Among the parties deliberated for collaboration were Jamaat-e-Islami, Sunni Ittehad Council, and JUI-Shirani group. The PTI leadership has decided to engage in discussions with these parties to explore potential alliances further.
Additionally, the possibility of an alliance with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was also discussed during the core committee meeting, as per sources. However, no concrete decision has been reached on this front, and further consultations are expected to take place before any formal agreements are made.
Interestingly, the core committee members also voiced opposition to collaborating with the PTI Parliamentarians, headed by former PTI leader Pervez Khattak. It was revealed that cooperation with these entities was deemed unfeasible, as per the collective opinion of the core committee members.
Following the deliberations, the core committee intends to inform the broader PTI constituency about the outcomes of the meeting, particularly regarding any new partnership arrangements that may arise from the discussions. The meeting underscores PTI's ongoing efforts to strategize and solidify its political alliances in the ever-evolving landscape of Pakistani politics.
