The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami have initiated contact once again, signaling a potential rekindling of their political relationship. A meeting between the leadership of both parties is scheduled to take place in Islamabad later on Friday evening.
The gathering, which is expected to bring together representatives from both PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami, aims to explore avenues of collaboration and discuss matters of mutual interest. Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Emir Liaquat Baloch will be leading his side.
The next round of dialogue comes after PTI leader Aamir Dogar reportedly reached out to Jamaat-e-Islami spokesperson Qaisar Sharif to initiate discussions. Sharif quoted Dogar as saying that PTI's negotiation team, led by Asad Qaiser, wanted to meet with the JI leadership.
Sharif further said that PTI leader Sardar Latif Khosa had also contacted Jamaat-e-Islami's Naib Emir Liaquat Baloch via telephone, underscoring the importance of cooperation between the two political entities.

Khosa emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami's Emir Sirajul Haq had a principled stance regarding any political collaboration, adding that the PTI believed any potential alliance should expand beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the federal level also.
Khosa further disclosed to Baloch that he planned to meet PTI Founder Imran Khan today, after which he would contact the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami, affirming the commitment to maintaining an open channel of negotiation in political discourse.
Baloch remarked that communication channels between political parties were always open.
On Wednesday, Liaquat Baloch had said that after the general elections, PTI leaders had contacted the JI and PTI Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on a common strategy in the new situation. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami emir consulted with the central leadership and established a committee.
The committee contacted PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, Omar Ayub Khan, and Mohammad Azam Khan Swati and discussed the country's election situation.
He said: “The JI apprised PTI leaders that it has major concerns about the elections. Changing or reversing the results forcefully is a disgrace and a bad name for democracy, which will harm the country and democracy.”
