Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that he was not in favour of accepting the allies' unprincipled stance.
Sources privy to the development said the three-time former premier said: "He had sacrificed his politics to save the country." Nawaz said he had sacrificed his politics in a bid to save the country.
Moreover, the PML-N leaders stressed the need to include the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the federal cabinet. "The PML-N had to bear most of the burden of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)."
"If the PPP refuses to become part of the cabinet, then we should not form the government in the centre," the PML-N leaders stated.
The party leadership had said: "There is no need to opt for alliance with any party in Punjab. As the required number games had been completed."

On Thursday, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif apprised three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif about the progress in the negotiations with the allies, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the centre.
Shehbaz Sharif called on the PML-N supremo at Jati Umra. On this occasion, both leaders discussed the latest political position of JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
A meeting of PML-N bigwigs was also held under the chairmanship of Nawaz Sharif. During the meeting, consultation was held on the possible names of the Punjab cabinet. The possible names of the Punjab assembly speaker and deputy speaker were also considered.
