Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cannot form a government without his party.
Addressing the public gathering in Thatta, the former foreign minister made it clear that PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari will be the party’s candidate for the presidency. He rallied behind Zardari, asserting, “Asif Ali Zardari will save the country and the centre.”
Bhutto-Zardari admitted that the country was facing a myriad of problems. “The country is facing economic, democratic, and political. efforts were made to divide our society. There is a dire need to have a politician who can address the masses’ problems rather than looking to gain personal interests,” he added.
He stated: “All the political parties should think about the uplift of the masses. Those politicians who are older than me, think about themselves, but not about the masses.”
Speaking about the polls, Bhutto-Zardari said: “The results of the elections came in such a way that all the political parties are staging protests.”
“Today the uproar has been caused by Form 45. There also exists a Form 45, where the PPP wins but the independent candidate is declared victorious,” he added.
Bhutto-Zardari said: “The PPP complaints are being collected, which will be discussed in the concerned forums.”
He made it clear that his party was not interested in the prime minister slot or any other ministries. “We merely want to see the prosperity of the masses,” he added.
“I was asked to take the prime minister slot for the last two years. But I would not like to become premier in this way,” he said.
