In a concerted effort to curb hoarding and smuggling activities, a nationwide crackdown spearheaded by the military leadership and relevant government institutions has yielded significant results.
The relentless pursuit against illegal practices has led to the seizure of goods worth billions of rupees, marking a pivotal step towards ensuring economic stability and fair market practices in the country.
Official data revealed that from January 5 to February 11, a staggering amount of illegal goods were confiscated in 77 highly effective operations conducted across the nation.
Among the seized items were 11.757 metric tons of fertilizer, 3.687 metric tons of flour, and 24.856 metric tons of sugar, highlighting the magnitude of the illicit activities thwarted during this period.
Since the initiation of the crackdown in September 2023, a total of 400 successful operations have been executed against hoarders, reflecting the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies.
Over this period, a remarkable quantity of contraband has been recovered, including 19,051.372 metric tons of fertilizer, 2,408.629 metric tons of flour, and 7,635.871 metric tons of sugar.
It is noteworthy that the caretaker government, in collaboration with the military leadership and pertinent government institutions, remains resolute in its determination to eradicate hoarding and smuggling practices from the country's economic landscape.
