Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, made a heartfelt revelation regarding his wife, Kate Middleton's, ongoing recovery at the illustrious BAFTA Awards on February 18.
Despite the glitz and glamour of the star-studded event, the absence of Princess Catherine was keenly felt, attributed to her ongoing recuperation from a scheduled abdominal surgery.
In a candid moment shared with Elaine Bedel, the chief executive of the Southbank Centre, Prince William expressed his regret over his wife's inability to attend, citing her genuine fondness for the BAFTAs. "I’m sorry Catherine’s not here. She does love the Baftas," remarked the future King of the United Kingdom.
The Duke disclosed that his own engagement with the nominated films had been significantly impacted by Kate's recovery, as he had refrained from indulging in the cinematic delights without her.
"I’ve done the fewest I’ve ever done before, with my wife it’s been a bit…hopefully we’ll catch up. I’ll make my list tonight," William shared, underlining the importance of their shared viewing experiences. "All the ones I watch, she watches with me. So we go through it carefully," he added, emphasizing their mutual appreciation for cinema.
The royal couple, renowned for their elegance and style, had captivated audiences with their debut appearance as the Prince and Princess of Wales at the British Awards ceremony in 2023.
Reflecting on their memorable debut, where Catherine dazzled in a breathtaking white one-shoulder Alexander McQueen dress complemented by long black gloves, and William exuded regal sophistication in a double-breasted velvet blazer paired with black pants and a bow tie.
