In a recent statement released by Kensington Palace, concerns surrounding the health of Kate Middleton have been addressed, following Prince William's unexpected absence from the King Constantine Memorial Service.
The Palace assured the public that the Duchess of Cambridge "continues to be doing well," quelling fears among royal watchers.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Prince William withdrew from the service due to a "personal matter," sparking speculation about the well-being of the royal family. However, the Palace clarified that Kate Middleton is currently recuperating from abdominal surgery, which she underwent last month, at Adeliade Cottage in Windsor. The Duchess is in the company of her children as she focuses on her recovery.
Meanwhile, in a poignant scene at the 15th-century chapel, Queen Camilla led the ceremony, accompanied by the embattled Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson, alongside their daughters Princess Eugenie and Beatrice. The solemn occasion also saw the presence of Queen Anne-Marie, widow of the late King Constantine, their eldest son Crown Prince Pavlos, and various members of the Greek royal family.
Notably absent from the service was King Charles, who, on medical advice, opted to forgo attendance after recently being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this month. The absence of both Prince William and King Charles has drawn attention to the fragility of health within the royal household.
The memorial service commemorated the passing of King Constantine, who succumbed to a stroke in January last year at the age of 82. Amidst the somber atmosphere, the royal family and attendees paid tribute to his legacy and contributions to the monarchy.
