In response to the recent incident of harassment against a woman wearing a dress adorned with Arabic script in Lahore’s Ichhra Bazar, the Lahore Police have taken decisive action by registering a case against the accused individuals involved.
According to the Lahore Police spokesperson, a case has been formally lodged at the Ichhra police station against several named and unnamed individuals.
The FIR, sealed upon registration, includes charges related to incitement of violence, aggravation of the situation, and threats against the woman's life.
The incident, which occurred a few days ago, sparked outrage when a woman wearing attire featuring Arabic calligraphy was targeted by an angry mob in Achhra Bazar. Upon receiving reports of the harassment, Punjab Police Officer Shehrbanu Naqvi intervened courageously, ensuring the woman's safe extraction from the crowd.
Detailing the ordeal, police authorities disclosed that the woman was surrounded by an irate mob, who attempted to harm her. Fortunately, the woman found refuge in a nearby shop, shielding herself from potential harm.
