Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to implement the manifesto after the formation of the federal cabinet.
Nawaz Sharif chaired the PML-N’s consultative meeting at the Prime Minister Chamber in Islamabad. Sources divulged that matters in line with the allied parties were also discussed during the huddle.
Former finance minister Ishaq Dar apprised Nawaz Sharif of talks held with the allied parties.
Speaking about the election of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari as the country’s president, Nawaz Sharif said: “Asif Ali Zardari has been elected as the country’s president with a clear majority.”
The PML-N supremo underlined the myriad challenges, saying, “The masses are expecting a lot from us. There is a dire need to control inflation in the country.”
According to sources, some of the PML-N leaders were of the view that the PPP should be made part of the federal cabinet.
Responding to the PML-N leaders’ query, PM Shehbaz said: “I would request Asif Ali Zardari in this regard after he will take the oath as president.”
PM Shehbaz made it clear that providing relief to the masses is his topmost priority.
