Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday exchanged views on the return of party’s supremo Nawaz Sharif to the country.
Sources divulged that Ms Nawaz called on Shehbaz Sharif. On the occasion, both leaders discussed the country’s political situation and other matters.
– Rupee remained stable by Rs98 –
PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz said today that the rupee remained stable against the greenback by Rs98 during the tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing an event organised the Muslim Students Federation (MSF), Ms. Nawaz praised Nawaz Sharif, asserting, "All the projects in the country are the brainchild of Maryam Nawaz.
Ms Nawaz was of the view that neither she nor Nawaz Sharif believe in the politics of vendetta.
"Nawaz Sharif was ousted on the basis of Iqama. As a result, the country’s progress was halted," she added.
She made it clear that Nawaz Sharif will return to the country on October 21.
– Ahsan underscores need to comprehend globalisation –
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Ahsan Iqbal stressed on Wednesday the need to grasp globalisation.
Addressing an event in Islamabad, the former planning minister reiterated, "PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was ousted through a conspiracy in 2017. Everybody is now asking, Why is the country’s economy going in the right direction?"
Mr Iqbal underlined the importance of political stability, saying, "Wherever there is progress in the country, there is political stability."
It is important to assess the environmental changes in the country in a bid to keep the country’s economy on track.
He called for the continuation of the reforms to promote investment in the country.
"Is there more intelligence and potential in India and Bangladesh? The governments of the BJP and Congress provided political stability in India," Mr. Iqbal maintained.
