Peshawar Zalmi opener Saim Ayub said on Friday that he was focusing more on batting than bowling.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Ayub said: “I like to bowl. I have bowled well in two of the matches. I had told skipper Babar Azam that if I bowl well today, it will not mean that I bowl well always. So don’t rely on my bowling.”
Ahead of Eliminator 2 in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Ayub said: “There is no room for defeat now for the Zalmi.”
Recalling the memories before stepping onto the international circuit, Ayub said: “It was three years ago that I used to watch the matches along with my parents. It was my parents’ wish to see me on the TV screen.”
“I was having the wish to play the PSL and see my parents making their way to the stadium,” Ayub said.
He maintained: “Babar Azam has talked about me and complimented me. Babar Azam had asked my mother to take care of me so that I should continue my good form.”
Ayub admitted that the results were not in the favour of the team against Australia.
