Founder Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, expressed his support for the recent protest outside the IMF office but said he has no knowledge of anti-army sloganeering.
In an informal conversation with the media following a hearing on a reference in Adiala Jail, he expressed his approval of the protest outside the IMF office abroad, clarifying that there was no awareness of anti-army sloganeering during the demonstration.
He also commented on the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, criticizing Ali Amin Gandapur for taking pictures with Shehbaz Sharif and expressing concern over the federal government’s reluctance to release funds for the province.
Mr Khan highlighted the significant voter turnout for his party in the elections and urged for immediate audits to ensure transparency. He emphasized the urgent need for strict reforms to address the sinking economy and voiced doubts about the current government's ability to govern effectively.
Regarding justice, the PTI founder expressed frustration, stating that true justice would not involve attacking his house and then asking him to forget.
He also reiterated that while his party received 30 million votes, the combined total of 17 other parties equaled the same number. He stressed the immediate need for election audits in Pakistan amid economic challenges and the government's inability to function effectively.
Regarding justice and political stability, Khan criticized the prevailing conditions, emphasizing the necessity of returning the stolen mandate to the people for true stability. He cited instances of alleged electoral malpractice and the need for systemic reforms.
On the international front, he lamented the lack of solidarity from the OIC on the issue of Palestine, commending South Africa for its stance. He also addressed the ongoing 190 million pound case, denying any wrongdoing and stating that the funds had been transferred from the Supreme Court to the government.
Reflecting on the country's state, Imran Khan underscored the importance of political stability before seeking IMF loans and called for national unity to implement essential reforms. He recounted the challenging conditions in Attock Jail and expressed nostalgia for Sheikh Rashid's presence within the party.
Regarding his time in Attock Jail, he described the harsh conditions faced there. When asked about Sheikh Rasheed's departure from the party, he responded with a smile, expressing his fondness for Rasheed's contributions.
He also stressed the need for national reforms, drawing parallels with Germany and Japan’s transformation into strong nations. Imran Khan shared his experiences from Attock Jail, where strict conditions prevailed. Regarding Sheikh Rashid leaving the party, Imran Khan expressed that he would miss Sheikh Rashid’s contributions.
