The Pakistan Meteorological Department has denied that it issued any forecast regarding the possible date for Eidul Fitr in the country.
In an exclusive conversation with Samaa Digital, the Met Office responded to various media reports that quoted it saying that Eidul Fitr is anticipated to fall on April 11.
As per the forecast cited in those reports, Pakistanis will observe 30 fasts during the ongoing Ramazan, with the holy month having commenced on March 12. The sighting of the Shawwal moon, expected on April 10 (Wednesday), will confirm the exact date of Eidul Fitr celebrations.
Speaking to Samaa Digital, a Met Office official in Islamabad said: "Forecasting or announcing Eid dates is not our job; it's the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee that announces moon sightings. We only deal with weather forecasts."
The Cabinet Division had in December last year unveiled a list of holidays for the current year.
As per the forecast holidays for Eidul Fitr, Pakistanis can expect five off days from April 10 to April 14 (Wednesday to Sunday), as the holidays will extend into the weekend.

With a total of five consecutive days off, the festive period offers an opportunity for relaxation and reflection for individuals across the country.
Eid holidays in UAE
Meanwhile, UAE residents are gearing up for a potential extended holiday as Eidul Fitr approaches, offering up to nine days of leisure time in April.
In a deviation from astronomical calculations, the sighting of the crescent moon in the UAE on March 10 officially marked the beginning of Ramazan, with March 11 being recognized as the first day of the holy month.
The duration of Ramazan, either 29 or 30 days, will determine the timing of Eidul Fitr. As per the UAE government's holiday schedule, residents can anticipate a break from Ramadan 29 until Shawwal 3 to commemorate Eidul Fitr. Should Ramazan span 30 days, Eid will fall on April 10, granting a nine-day holiday from April 8 to April 12, including weekend days.
