Security forces successfully thwarted an attempted attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex, eliminating all eight terrorists involved in the assault.
The militants, identified as members of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), sought to breach the GPA Complex in a brazen act of terrorism.
According to sources, the BLA terrorists attempted to infiltrate the GPA Complex in Gwadar, presumably aiming to wreak havoc and cause destruction.
However, their nefarious plans were swiftly intercepted by the vigilant security forces, who responded with decisive action to neutralise the threat Meanwhile, security officials have cordoned off the area surrounding the GPA Complex as they work to secure the premises and ensure the safety of residents and personnel.
Two soldiers embrace martyrdom
On the other hand, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said that during the intense exchange of fire, two brave soldiers; Sepoy Bahar Khan (age: 35 years, resident of District DG Khan) and Sepoy Imran Ali (age: 28 years, resident of District Khairpur) having fought gallantly, sacrificed their lives and embraced Shahadat.
A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the killed terrorists.
Situated at the heart of the city, the GPA Complex houses various offices crucial to the operations of the Gwadar Port Authority, alongside facilities for law enforcement agencies and staff residences.
Among its numerous functions, the GPA is instrumental in the development of commercial structures such as bank branches, stevedores, agency offices, cargo storage sheds, and marine repair workshops, aimed at facilitating investors and generating revenue.
The GPA has undertaken significant infrastructural projects within the complex, with an estimated cost totaling Rs. 2381.884 million. These projects are integral to enhancing the port's capabilities and furthering its economic significance in the region.
