The nomination papers of Shoaib Siddiqui from Constituency PP-149 of Lahore have been approved as Shoaib will be the joint candidate of PML-N and Isthekam Pakistan Party (IPP).
Shoaib Siddiqui was elected MPA from the same constituency in 2015 also in the by-election. Shoaib Siddiqui was elected MPA twice in addition to holding various political positions.
The seat of PP-149 was vacated as President IPP Abdul Aleem Khan was elevated to the National Assembly and later became Privatization and Investment minister in the Shehbaz Sharif-led cabinet.
Shoaib Siddiqui is determined to participate in the by-election with full preparation. Siddique has been rendering public services in this area for 20 years.

Who is Shoaib Siddiqui?
Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui son of Mr Muhammad Idrees Siddiqui was born on May 29, 1969 in Lahore.
He obtained the degrees of M.Sc. Physics and Mathematics in 1991 and 1993 respectively from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He has served as Member, Punjab Board of Technical Education, Lahore during 2005-07; as Member Syndicate, King Edward Medical University during 2007; and as Member Syndicate, Government College University, Lahore during 2006-07.
Two publications titled “Investigation of Gamma by Activity and Radiological Hazards” published in 1991 in Science International; and “Radiation Hazards from Building Materials” published in 1993 in Arabian Journal of Science and Engineering, UAE are to his credit. A businessman, who remained Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2004-07 and functioned as Parliamentary Secretary for Information during 2006-07. He has returned to the Punjab Assembly for second term in bye-elections held on October 11, 2015 against the seat vacated by Mr Mohsin Latif.
