Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Murad Saeed has been declared eligible for the upcoming Senate election.
The decision was made by Judge Shakeel Ahmed of the Appellate Tribunal convened in the Peshawar High Court after hearing Saeed's appeal.
Following the deliberations, the tribunal accepted Saeed's appeal, paving the way for his participation in the Senate election.
This ruling comes in the wake of former senator Azam Khan Swati's successful appeal, which also secured his eligibility for the Senate election on a general seat.
Initially declared ineligible by the Returning Officers (ROs), both Swati and Saeed sought recourse through the Appellate Tribunal to challenge their disqualification.
In addition to the former federal minister’s victory, the tribunal also dismissed appeals contesting the approval of nomination papers for candidates Dilawar Khan, Rubina Khalid, Fida Muhammad, and Azhar Mashwani.
