Amidst tensions over seat adjustments in the Punjab Senate election, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) expressed frustration with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for not accommodating women’s seats in the province.
The PPP decided to stand firm, refusing to withdraw Faiza Malik’s candidacy in response to the PML-N’s stance.
In a move signaling their discontent, the parliamentary party of the PPP opted out of attending the iftar dinner hosted by the Chief Minister of Punjab. This decision underscores the seriousness of the PPP’s stance on the issue.
Party sources revealed that the PPP is determined to vigorously contest Faiza Malik’s senate election and is exploring options, including seeking support from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to bolster their position.
It’s worth noting that the PTI had approached the PPP seeking their support for Yasmin Rashid’s candidacy, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing political maneuvering.
