Five federal ministers have been assigned additional portfolios, signalling a reshuffle in the government's cabinet.
Among the notable appointments, Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has been tasked with the additional responsibility of overseeing the communications portfolio. Similarly, Chaudhry Salik Hussain has been entrusted with the additional portfolio of religious affairs, highlighting the government's focus on matters of faith and spirituality.
Furthermore, Industries Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain has been assigned the additional portfolio of food protection. Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal will now oversee inter-provincial coordination also, aiming to foster collaboration and harmony among Pakistan's provinces.
Moreover, Petroleum Minister Dr Musadik Malik has been appointed to lead the water resources portfolio also.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed three new coordinators to facilitate coordination and cooperation on various fronts. Rumina Khurshid Alam has been appointed as the coordinator on climate change, Shabbir Ahmed Usmani has been appointed as the coordinator for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan affairs.
Moreover, Rana Ehsan Afzal has been appointed as coordinator without a department.
