The Punjab government approved on Wednesday a minimum support price (MSP) for wheat at Rs3900 per 40 kilograms for the current season.
This decision was reached during a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore.
With the approval of this MSP, farmers can expect a more stable income, providing them with a measure of financial security.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also gave the green light to the wheat procurement policy for the upcoming year, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures to support agricultural sustainability.
In addition to agricultural reforms, the Chief Minister demonstrated a dedication to addressing pressing societal issues by approving the establishment of a Special Speedy Trial Court. This specialised court aims to expedite the resolution of cases related to child abuse and rape.
