Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz presided over the review meeting of school education reforms
CM said that delay in textbook delivery is not acceptable, during the briefing educational authorities told the Chief Minister that 41% of textbooks have been supplied, the rest of the books delivery will be completed by May and next academic year textbooks will be provided in February.
In the meeting, Maryam Nawaz instructed to prepare a new mechanism regarding the appointment of CEOs and DEOs in every district. In which selection will be done only after regular tests, interviews and computer training.
Guidelines for the implementation of a comprehensive procedure for the selection of CEO, DEOs, and DDEOs were also been given.
In the meeting, Maryam Nawaz also said that all the educational facilities should be provided to special children in government schools, in every district and one school is dedicated to the education of special children. On divisional level, schools for transgender will also establish.
During the meeting, proposals are reviewed regarding the Punjab School Inspectorate to form a Standardized Matriculation Examination Board.
Proposal to run all the matters of school education through a central body.
The proposed authority will work on Punjab education teacher and curriculum development, School development, teacher training, curriculum development, testing and assessment and on learning outcomes.
During the meeting, it was agreed to hold a school hockey league in Punjab and Pakistan's biggest "School Olympics".
A new storybook on environmental pollution and climate change was also presented to the Chief Minister.
