A deadlock has persisted between the district administration and the bakers' association on the price of roti in Lahore as the Nanbai association has rejected the new prices amid the crackdown against the violations.
As per Lahore district administration, 3496 points were checked in 24 hours wherein 79 cases were registered and 592 fines were imposed. Meanwhile, over 100 people were detained for selling non-bread at over the fixed price of Rs16 per roti.
Lahore deputy commissioner Rafia Haider vowed actions will continue without discrimination against those who do not sell bread at fixed prices.
