The Embassy of Pakistan Tokyo in a statement issued said the mission is deeply concerned about the reported targeting of Japanese nationals in Karachi by terrorists.
Pakistan and Japan have a common commitment to rid the world of the menace of terrorism and violent extremism and such actions will not dent our resolve, the embassy said in a press release posted on X, formerly Twitter, and on Facebook.
The Pakistani embassy unequivocally condemned the dastardly act. “We are thankful that the Japanese nationals were unharmed due to timely action by law enforcement authorities,” the statement reads, adding that, the embassy is ascertaining details of the incident.
President, Premier condemns terror attack
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the suicide blast and firing in Landhi, Karachi.
In his statement, the President commended police's timely action against the terrorists. He said the timely action of police prevented major casualties.
He expressed the firm commitment to collectively wipe out the terrorists.
The Prime Minister, in his statement, prayed for early recovery of the injured and directed the authorities concerned to provide best possible medical facilities.
Shehbaz Sharif said the government will foil all nefarious designs to disrupt law and order situation.

Two terrorists were killed in a suicide attack targeting a convoy of foreign nationals near the Mansehra Colony stop in Landhi area of Karachi. Two security guards and a passer-by were among those injured.
According to authorities, the attack was aimed at the vehicle carrying foreign nationals. The Sindh inspector general of police, in a statement, confirmed that five foreigners were travelling in the convoy, all of whom escaped unharmed.
