The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council met on Monday to discuss plans for the upcoming season and the date for the ninth season was finalized.
The meeting at the National Cricket Academy was chaired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf and attended by representatives of all six PSL franchises.
One of the key decisions of the meeting was to retain the six-team format for the upcoming season.
The PCB also confirmed that the tournament will be held from February 8 to March 24, 2024.
The governing council discussed a number of other issues, including the possibility of adding a women's cricket league or exhibition matches to the PSL.
The PCB is also working with the franchises to explore alternative venues in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
The governing council also remembered the late Alamgir Tareen, former owner of the Multan Sultans, in a heartfelt and respectful way and praised his contribution towards Pakistan cricket.
