Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Police Sub-Inspector (SI), who was performing his duty as Additional Sub Inspector, Adnan Qureshi succumbed to his injuries after clashes between the police and Awami Action Committee protesters in Mirpur, AJK.
The funeral prayers of the martyred cop will be offered at 3 pm Sunday at Quaid-e-Azam Stadium aka Mirpur Cricket Stadium located in sector F/2 Mirpur city.
The dead body of the AJK cop reached his residence in Mirpur where his, relatives, friends, neighbours, and people from the Police force reached and expressed their condolences to his family members.
Soon after the news broke in Mirpur city, a large number of people reached Mirpur THQ to show solidarity with the cop.
President summons meeting on AJK situation
Sources claimed President Asif Zardari also called an emergency meeting today (Sunday) on the situation in Azad Kashmir as AJK Police Additional SHO Adnan Qureshi lost his life after a violent mob attacked him with weapons.
The current situation in Azad Kashmir will be discussed in the meeting held in the President's House.

PM shows concerns on AJK incident
PML-N Azad Kashmir chapter President Shah Ghulam Qadir telephoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and briefed him about the situation in AJK.

Who was Adnan Qureshi?
SI Adnan Qureshi was among the top trends on social media platforms in Pakistan soon after her martyrdom news broke. Adnan's family member talked to SAMAA TV and said the fallen hero was known for his modesty and professionalism among locals.
Adnan Qureshi left behind his wife, two daughters, and a son for mourning.
He was posted at Thothal Police Station Mirpur.
Adnan Qureshi Additional SHO's Badge batchmate Raja Umair CIA in-charge Bhambar said Adnan Qureshi was a very humble, friendly, and pious person.
“He possessed a good character. I had a very close relationship with him. His whole family is based in the UK. His father wanted his son to join the police force, so he joined the police. And laid down his life,” he said.
The demonstrations entered the second day against high electricity bills and taxes entered the second day in Mirpur, AJK. A Police van was also torched in Kotli, Azad Jammu Kashmir.

AJK PM pays rich tributes to cop
Prime Minister AJK Anwaar-ul-Haq in a press conference paid tributes to the fallen who laid his life while maintaining law and order in Mirpur city.
Prime Minister AJK Chaudhry Anwar Haq paid rich tributes to the martyred SI Adnan Qureshi. “Adnan Qureshi is the pride of AZK Police. He laid down his life while on duty. We are saddened by the martyrdom of brave cop,” he said.
AJK PM said ‘criminals’ responsible for the death of AJK Policeman would not be spared under any circumstances.
He expressed his condolences to the family members of the martyred SI. He urged protesters to civic responsibility.
The routine life in AJK remained disturbed and almost suspended as markets, trade centres, offices schools and restaurants remained closed shutter to protest calls.
The AJK government placed a blanket ban on public gatherings, rallies, and processions in all districts in the wake of AAC protests and with Section 144 imposed across the region.
