In a joint news conference of opposition PTI leaders Umar Ayub and Asad Qaiser with JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence, old foes set aside their differences and vowed to work to protect the Constitution.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who was once skeptical of PTI Imran Khan’s style of politics, stressed to pace up communication for a political environment with and goal to remove bitterness.
He claimed Parliament has lost its importance and democracy is losing its case while the Constitution has expired as it could not provide peace to the common man.
The former president of the PDM Pakistan Democratic Movement said a sit-in has been going on for 6 to 7 months at the Chaman border but no one is listening.
“We should have one voice on commonality,” hinting that differences between JUI-F and PTI were not less but could be softened.
PTI senior leader Omar Ayub talking to media persons said that there is an old relationship with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and vowed struggle to uphold the constitution and the law would continue.
JUI's series of public gatherings has been going on as per the schedule of the Tehreeke-e-Tahafuz Constitution.
“The government should review our legitimate demands. The press club is closed in Quetta and the roots of the country will be weak. If the situation improves, investment will not come to Pakistan,” Umar Ayub added.
He alleged that these governments were undemocratic and they condemned them.
Umar Ayub thanked JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman for a warm welcome to the delegation.
He cited Punjab farmers and tax implementation in FATA as common issues between PTI and JUI-F.
“What happened to Rauf Hasan, it is known that there is a law of the jungle in the country,” PTI senior leader and former speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser said.
He clarified that this war was not to overthrow the government or to bring a new government.
“Put delegation talked about the rule of law in the country with JUI-F leader and found both parties standing on the same stance,” Sajid Tareen said.
