Karachi is on high alert for a potential heatwave starting tomorrow, as temperatures are expected to soar, intensifying the already hot weather experienced on Tuesday.
Met department forecasts indicate that the city could see temperatures rise to a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius today.
From May 29 to 31, the heat intensity in Karachi is likely to increase significantly, with temperatures projected to climb between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius. The Met Department has advised residents to take necessary precautions to cope with the extreme heat.
Today's weather conditions include a maximum temperature range of 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. Fortunately, sea breezes have been restored in the city, providing some relief. The humidity ratio in the air stands at 66%, and winds are blowing from the southwest direction at a speed of 35 kilometres per hour.

The anticipated heatwave poses a serious health risk, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Authorities have urged citizens to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and seek medical attention if they experience symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Meanwhile, the Met department has predicted the possibility of a reduction in the extreme heat wave in Lahore and forecast rain in Punjab and upper areas of the country caused by western winds. The maximum temperature will reach 44 degrees in Lahore today.
