Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah uncovered extensive overbilling by K-Electric amounting to billions of rupees in government institutions.
Speaking to the press, Minister Shah disclosed that K-Electric billed government institutions an additional Rs20 billion over the past 10 years. This year's audit alone revealed overbilling exceeding Rs2 billion.
Minister Shah expressed grave concern over the plight of government institutions, emphasizing that if such entities are facing overbilling, ordinary citizens must be suffering even more.
The government plans to establish a joint committee to protect citizens from overbilling practices to combat this issue.
"The people of Karachi will not be allowed to suffer the oppression of K-Electric," declared Minister Shah, affirming the government's commitment to addressing and rectifying these unjust billing practices.
