Federal Minister for Investment, Privatization and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan held a productive meeting with Kuwait's Minister of Water and Power Dr Mahmood on Wednesday reiterating their commitment to further promote bilateral trade between the two countries.
The meeting, held as part of the Fifth Joint Ministerial Commission, saw both sides agreeing to form joint working groups under the Saudi Investment Fund Company (SIFC) to explore new avenues of cooperation.
Abdul Aleem Khan expressed Pakistan's keen interest in modern technology and investment, offering Kuwait wide opportunities for investment and new business ventures. He also announced plans to provide export zones and special privileges to Kuwaiti investors.
Identifying potential areas of cooperation, the minister highlighted opportunities in the meat, milk, rice, and foodstuff business in Pakistan. Dr. Mahmood, the Kuwaiti Minister, assured all possible support to Pakistan, expressing his desire to increase trade with the country.
Earlier, Abdul Aleem Khan met with prominent business personalities in Tajikistan, where he emphasized Pakistan's potential as a significant market for Central Asia's business activities and trade.
The minister's visit to Kuwait is expected to yield various agreements between the two countries, aimed at strengthening economic ties and promoting mutual cooperation."
