Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited passport and NADRA centers in London and directed officials to issue urgent passports to overseas Pakistanis in seven days.
The Interior Minister took notice of the delay in issuing passports to Pakistanis living around the world.
Mohsin Naqvi said that normal passports would be issued to overseas Pakistanis in 30 days while the urgent passport was ordered to be issued in seven days.
The Interior Minister said that the policy will be applied to all Pakistani missions worldwide, delay in passports will not be tolerated in any case, and action will be taken against the officers concerned if passports are not issued within the stipulated period.
The Interior Minister has also set up a monitoring cell to ensure delivery of passports within the stipulated period, which will be headed by ASP Shahr Bano Naqvi Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Interior Minister.
