Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has praised the national cricket team captain, Babar Azam, for his humble nature and relentless pursuit of excellence both as a batsman and a leader.
Speaking ahead of the high-stakes T20 World Cup clash between Pakistan and India in New York on Sunday, the 32-year-old Amir highlighted Babar's dedication to improving his game.
"Babar Azam is a very humble guy and always thinks hard about his batting. He loves his batting, even in the nets he's still there batting when we finish," Amir remarked.
"The best thing about him is that he always tries to learn. As a leader, he's learning, as a batter he's doing so well for Pakistan and himself, but he still wants to learn," he added.
Pakistan, having opted to bowl first against their arch-rivals India, have made strategic changes to their lineup. Babar Azam announced at the toss that Azam Khan has been benched and Imad Wasim has been brought into the playing XI.
