Babar Azam (56 off 42), Hussain Talat (51 off 37) and Alzarri Joseph helped Peshawar Zalmi beat Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets in the 14th match of the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.
ZALMI'S INNINGS
Chasing a modest 130-run target, the Zalmi completed the chase with 20 balls remaining. Mohammad Haris scored 20 from 16 balls, before he was removed by Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Saim Ayub (2) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (0) failed to offer significant resistance with the bat.
For Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi (2-22) took two wickets. Haris Rauf (1-39) took one wicket. Mohammad Wasim (0-23), Daryl Mitchell (0-5), Rishad Hossain (0-18), Asif Afridi (0-19) and Sikandar Raza (0-6) remained wicketless.
QALANDARS' INNINGS
After a horrendous start, Lahore Qalandars' Sikandar Raza's brilliant 37-ball 52 helped his team post a 130-run target for Peshawar Zalmi.
After being put in to bat, the Zalmi bowlers ensured that the Qalandars batters were put to the test, as six of the Qalandars' batters failed to reach double figures.
Fakhar Zaman (10), Asif Ali (4), Abdullah Shafique (0), Daryl Mitchell (2), Sam Billings (9), Shaheen Afridi (16), Rishad Hossain (13), Haris Rauf (10), and Mohammad Azab (0) could not offer significant resistance with the bat.
Asif Afridi remained unbeaten on an 11-ball 6.
For Zalmi, Alzarri Joseph picked up three wickets.
Luke Wood and Arif Yaqoob took two wickets apiece.
Mitchell Owen remained wicketless.
