Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led federal government announced on Wednesday an increase in the minimum basic salary from Rs32,000 to Rs37,000.
This adjustment is part of a broader strategy to bolster the financial stability of government employees in the upcoming fiscal year.
Earlier, in a crucial meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the cabinet approved the budget proposals for the fiscal year 2024-25.
During the meeting, the federal cabinet gave the green light to the budget proposals for the upcoming financial year, sanctioning a significant 25 percent salary increase for government employees.
With a proposed 25% salary increase for those in grades 1 to 16. and Officers in grades 17 to 22 are set to receive a 22% raise, while retired employees are looking at a 15% increase in their pensions.
