Lahore High Court Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan encouraged the judiciary to uphold justice fearlessly to reinforce public trust in the judiciary's impartiality and commitment to the rule of law by fighting the establishment and vowed establishment interference in the judiciary to be ended soon.
The LHC CJ in his address emphasized the imminent end to establishment interference in the judiciary. He said everyone needed to join hands to get rid of the establishment’s interference in the judiciary.
“The interference of the establishment in the judiciary is the misfortune of the country,” he said.
He was addressing on the occasion of the inauguration of e-court and conciliation centers in Rawalpindi.
Addressing concerns over punctuality, Justice Khan highlighted initiatives such as biometric attendance and surprise inspections to ensure judicial accountability. He reaffirmed the judiciary's commitment to upholding justice fearlessly and restoring public trust in its impartiality and adherence to the rule of law.
In his speech, Justice Khan acknowledged challenges within the legal profession but commended most lawyers for their professionalism and dedication.
“We installation of CCTV cameras in courts, aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in judicial proceedings,” he said.
The CJ appreciated cooperation of Punjab's legal community in burying the culture of court strikes and lockouts, stressing that such actions often exacerbated delays in cases.
