In a dramatic turn of events during the England Domestic County Championship, Worcestershire spinner Shoaib Bashir conceded 38 runs in a single over.
The match, held between Surrey and Worcestershire, saw Surrey batsman Dean Lawrence hit five consecutive sixes off Bashir, including four straight sixes and one slog sweep to midwicket.
The over started disastrously for Bashir with a no-ball that added two extra runs, followed by a wide that slipped past the wicketkeeper, resulting in five additional runs. Lawrence’s onslaught helped him reach a century just before the 128th over of Surrey’s first innings.
