Residents of Karachi are bracing for another hot and humid day as the city experiences high temperatures and no prospect of rain.
The Met Department has confirmed that the weather is likely to remain hot and humid throughout the day, with temperatures expected to range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius in the early hours, and the current temperature stands at 32 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is notably high, with 73% moisture content in the air, adding to the discomfort.
Winds are blowing at a speed of 7km per hour, with an expected increase to 15 to 20km per hour later in the day. Despite the breezy conditions, there is no forecast for rain, leaving the city's residents to cope with the hot and humid climate.
The Meteorological Department noted that the intensity of the heat slightly decreased yesterday due to dusty winds blowing through the city. However, today's weather conditions are expected to be more challenging, with the combination of high temperatures and humidity.

Karachi residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and take necessary precautions to stay cool and safe during the hot and humid weather.
Meanwhile, the Met Department has announced the arrival of the city's first monsoon rain. The much-anticipated showers are expected to bring respite from the scorching temperatures that have gripped the city in recent weeks.
The department reported that monsoon winds will enter Karachi from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea starting June 26. A low-pressure system currently present in Gujarat, India, is set to move towards Pakistan, bringing with it the much-needed rain.
"Citizens can expect light to moderate rain on June 29," said a spokesperson from the department.
