Senate Standing Committee on National Health was briefed and warned of travel restrictions in future for Pakistani passengers, if polio virus would not eradicated in the next three years.
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on National Health was held under the chairmanship of Humayun Mohmand, in which the National Coordinator of the Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme Shahzad Baig gave briefing to the meeting.
He said the polio virus samples were detected in environmental samples from Afghanistan, and So far there have been 6 polio cases in Afghanistan.
Baig said that the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are difficult and in recent two years, poliovirus cases were detected from North Waziristan, Bannu and Lucky Marwat.
It was also briefed that Mohmand said that imams of 1,043 mosques also voted in support of anti-polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
