The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain-wind/thunderstorms for Karachi, Hyderabad, and various parts of Sindh on Tuesday night as light to moderate monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper and central regions of Pakistan.
A westerly wave is also impacting the northwestern parts of the country.
According to the PMD, the weather conditions will likely bring more rain-wind/thunderstorms to Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Badin, Sajawal, Thatta, and Karachi on Tuesday night.
However, the province will experience mainly hot and humid weather on Wednesday and Thursday. Karachi's maximum temperature is expected to range between 38-40°C on Wednesday and 36-38°C on Thursday. In Hyderabad, the maximum temperature is anticipated to be between 39-41°C on Wednesday and 40-42°C on Thursday.
The city witnessed rain-wind/thundershowers in Karachi and other parts of Sindh over the past 24 hours. Elsewhere in the province, hot and humid weather prevailed.
The PMD recorded the following rainfall (in mm): Surjani Town 58, City 32, Airport 31, Orangi Town 30, University Road 20, P.A.F Faisal 16, Saadi Town 15, Gulshan-E-Hadeed 12, North Karachi 09, Gulshan-E-Maymar, Kemari 07, Korangi 04, Malir 03, PAF Masroor, and Ibrahim Hyderi 02. Additionally, Mithi received 19 mm of rain, Tando Jam 09 mm, and Badin, Chhor, and Thatta 01 mm each.
Jacobabad recorded the highest temperature in the province at 45°C, while Mohenjo-Daro and Khairpur saw temperatures reach 44°C. Rohri, Larkana, and Dadu each recorded a maximum temperature of 43°C. In Karachi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C, with relative humidity in the evening at 85 per cent. Hyderabad's maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C, with relative humidity in the evening at 67 per cent.
