Inflation has reached unprecedented levels in Karachi's bazaars, leaving essential commodities out of reach for many residents.
Prices of vegetables and pulses have skyrocketed, with tomatoes commanding between 200 to 250 rupees per kilogram. Locals urged the government to stabilize prices and alleviate the financial burden on households.
As per SAMAA TV report, cauliflower has surged to 200 rupees per kg, while okra has reached an astonishing 400 rupees per kg.
Buyers expressed dismay over the exorbitant prices as even mash dal is being sold at 540 rupees per kilogram making it increasingly difficult for families to afford necessities.
Potatoes and onions are also facing steep price hikes, ranging from 120 to 150 rupees per kg. Other pulses like masoor dal are priced at 280 rupees per kg, and chana dal at 340 rupees per kg, further exacerbating the financial strain on consumers.
