The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) exam paper, scheduled for May 5, 2024, was reportedly sold a day before the exam for several lakh rupees. Police operations in Patna, Godhra, and Rajasthan recovered amounts ranging from 3 to 5 million rupees linked to the paper leak, according to Indian media reports.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, accusing them of supporting those who compromise the rights of ordinary students by manipulating the examination system.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan acknowledged many flaws in the educational system in light of this incident. However, Gandhi further criticized the minister, stating that while Pradhan listed the system's shortcomings, he failed to address his own responsibilities.
The BJP's silence on the matter has led to accusations that the law is not equally applied to the upper classes in India. The incident has raised questions about the integrity of the educational system and the government's handling of such frauds.
