Prince William, 42, received a substantial income of $30 million from his Duchy of Cornwall estate during the 2023-2024 financial year, multiple outlets report.
The estate, which William inherited from his father, King Charles III, when he ascended the throne in September 2022, produced a distributable surplus of £23.6 million ($30.4 million) from its investments, as per the latest Integrated Annual Report.
William was granted the Duke of Cornwall title. The Duchy of Cornwall, valued at over $1 billion, is intended to fund the lives of the heirs to the throne. Officially, the private estate supports Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton, and their three children in their “official, charitable, and private activities.”
Established in 1337 by King Edward III, the Duchy spans approximately 205 square miles across the UK, encompassing arable and livestock farms, residential and commercial properties, forests, rivers, quarries, and coastline.
The report also highlighted William's new roles and titles. As an avid football fan, he has been named Patron of the Football Association, a position previously held by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Additionally, William now holds authority over the Welsh Guards Charity and the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association.
He has also been appointed president of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association, which awards the highest military honor to civilians and military personnel.
William stepped down as president of Fields in Trust to become a patron. Fields in Trust is an organization dedicated to protecting parks and green spaces across the UK.
