Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Arooba Komal has been granted bail by the Islamabad District and Sessions Court.
Judicial Magistrate Shabbir Bhatti set the bail amount at Rs50,000.
Arooba Komal had been arrested and subsequently sent to jail on judicial remand on Sunday by Duty Judge Mureed Abbas. The case, filed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), also involves PTI spokesman Raoof Hasan and other workers.
Komal was not named in the FIR, and her legal representation was provided by Advocate Sardar Masroof.
Advocate Sardar Masroof, who appeared in court on behalf of Komal, noted that two other women associated with the case had already been granted bail. He argued that Komal was not even named in the FIR.

On Sunday, the District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad referred Raoof Hasan and the other suspects to a two-day physical remand under the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The court had also sent Syeda Arooba on judicial remand.
A case was registered against Hasan and others under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). Duty Judge Mureed Abbas pronounced the reserved verdict on Raoof Hasan's physical remand, approving a 2-day remand despite the FIA's request for eight days. Arooba was placed under judicial remand.
The FIA prosecutor emphasized the state's priority in matters concerning freedom of expression.
Raoof Hasan stated that he was not responsible for social media activities, but acknowledged his connections with those who were arrested. The FIA prosecutor argued that the physical remand is necessary to gather information about his connections.
