The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has announced that monsoon rains across Punjab are expected to persist throughout the day, with the current spell of weather anticipated to continue until tomorrow.
According to a spokesperson for PDMA, the province will experience rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. Areas likely to be affected include Lahore, Narowal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot.
Despite the heavy rainfall, water levels in key rivers -- Indus, Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum, and Sutlej -- remain at normal levels. Similarly, the water level in Mangla Dam is reported to be at 58%, while Tarbela Dam is at 70%, indicating no immediate threat of flooding.

In light of these weather conditions, PDMA DG Irfan Ali Kathia has instructed all agencies concerned to stay alert and prepared for any potential issues arising from the ongoing monsoon rains.
Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued warnings of potential flooding in multiple regions of Pakistan due to heavy rains. Areas at risk include Azad Kashmir, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Koh-e-Sulaiman, and the adjacent hills of Balochistan.
The department also cautioned about possible inundation in the low-lying areas of lower Sindh, south Punjab, Peshawar, and Karachi.

Rain with strong winds and thunder is anticipated in Islamabad and its surrounding areas, while rainfall is also expected in regions such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Peshawar, Mohmand, Kohat, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Additional areas forecast for rain include Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, DG Khan, Bhakkar, Multan, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Zhob, Shirani, Musakhel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Loralai, Sibbi, Harnai, Ziarat, Quetta, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Dera Bugti, Jaffarabad, Kalat, Khuzdar, Turbat, Panjgur, Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Larkana, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, and Dadu.
Rain with strong winds and thundershowers is also expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the Met department, Karachi is bracing for heavy rain and thunderstorms today (Tuesday). The clouds are primed to bring significant rainfall, with the weather currently reported as cloudy and humid.
