The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has announced updated customs values for the latest iPhone 16 models, including the high-end iPhone 16 Pro Max variants, as part of its Valuation Ruling No. 1999/2025, it emerged on Wednesday.
According to officials, the revised valuation follows formal requests from multiple collectorates, including Customs Airport, seeking the inclusion of Apple’s newly released iPhone 16 variants in the official customs table to streamline the assessment of duties.
The Directorate noted that a series of consultative meetings were held with relevant stakeholders to determine appropriate customs values for the new models.
During these discussions, participants stressed the need to revise the customs valuation to accommodate the latest additions to Apple’s product line and adjust the values of older models accordingly.
As per the valuation ruling, the customs value for the iPhone 16 Pro Max (512GB) has been fixed at $1,278, which equates to approximately Rs359,501 based on the exchange rate as of April 30, 2025. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max (1TB) variant has been valued at $1,469 or around Rs413,229.
The updated valuation covers a total of 187 Apple phone variants, reflecting the increasing need for clarity in customs procedures amid growing imports of premium electronic devices.
Customs authorities have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the revised ruling. Any discrepancies or anomalies in implementation are to be immediately reported to the Directorate for review.
The new valuation is expected to impact import duties and subsequently the retail prices of the latest Apple phones across the country, especially as demand rises ahead of Eid and summer shopping season.
