The Punjab provincial government has announced a reduction in flour prices up to Rs100, bringing much-needed relief to citizens.
According to Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin, the prices of 10kg and 20kg flour bags have been further reduced across the province following directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The official notification regarding the price cuts has been issued and is now in effect.
He said that in Lahore, the price of a 20kg bag of flour has been slashed by Rs70, now available at Rs1,730 instead of the previous Rs1,800. The reduction is even more significant in Sheikhupura, where the price of a 20kg flour bag has been cut by Rs100, making it available for Rs1,640, he added.
Other cities across Punjab are also benefiting from this price reduction. In Jhelum, Chakwal, Pakpattan, and Narowal, the price has been reduced by Rs80, he said, while Multan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, and Attock have seen a Rs60 decrease. Rawalpindi, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Nankana, and Okara residents will now pay Rs50 less for a 20kg flour bag.
Additionally, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chiniot, Khushab, Bhakkar, Lodhran, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, and Rahim Yar Khan will see a reduction of Rs40, while residents of Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Wazirabad, and Mandi Bahauddin will benefit from a Rs30 decrease.
