The alleged abduction of Pakistani actress Nimra Khan in Karachi's Defense Phase 8 area has been reclassified as an incident of harassment rather than an attempted kidnapping.
According to SDPO Derakhshan, the initial claims of a kidnapping attempt have been revised. The investigation, which has involved examining CCTV footage and witness statements, concluded that the incident was an instance of harassment by the same individual responsible for two recent similar cases.
All suspects have been apprehended, as confirmed by the SDPO.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, August 11, at 7:21 pm, had previously been reported by Khan through an emotional Instagram video. In her account, the actress described waiting outside a hotel in Defense while her family was stuck in traffic.
She alleged that three armed men had approached her, attempting to forcibly abduct her. Khan recounted a distressing moment when one of the men pointed a gun at her, prompting her to scream and flee the scene.
Despite the presence of hotel security guards, Khan claimed they did not intervene, and she narrowly escaped what she believed to be a kidnapping attempt.
In response to the reclassification of the incident, Nimra Khan has expressed her satisfaction with the police's handling of the situation. The actress has acknowledged the swift action taken by law enforcement and the arrest of the suspects involved.
