The steering committee was established on Tuesday to accelerate the pace of development in the merged tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The committee had been formed under the chairmanship of interim provincial minister Aamir Abdullah.
According to the issued statement, the secretary had been appointed as one of the special secretaries for the merged districts committee.
The committee on requirements can nominate any of the experts as a member.
The task of the committee will be to review the development projects in the merged districts. The committee will also responsible for formulating policies and taking special steps to uphold the merged KP districts.
– Influx in KP mountains –
Separately, the number of tourists visited the KP had been increased in 2023 in comparison to last year.
Despite the economic difficulties, a large number of tourists visited the picturesque mountains.
A new record of tourists had now been set as tourists flock KP mountains to see the waterfalls, rivers and charming lakes falling from a height.
KP tourism department, 8.8 million tourists visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the year 2022—more than 1.11 million tourists visited the province in 2022.
As per the KP data, 3.5 million tourists camped in Naran and Kaghan, while more than 3.4 million tourists camped in Galiat.
Officials of the tourism department say that special measures were taken the province to promote tourism, including the introduction of new places. It is said that number of foreign tourists is also increasing continuously.
