An alleged abduction attempt of a local contractor by a suspected Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official from Punjab has sparked controversy in Peshawar.
The incident occurred in the Town police station area, where the CTD official allegedly attempted to pick up the contractor without notifying the local police.
According to reports, the contractor was approached by the CTD official, who tried to forcibly take him away. The situation escalated when the contractor's colleagues intervened, catching the official and subsequently handing him over to the local police.
During the incident, various identification cards from different organizations were recovered from the detained official.
The police have registered a case against the alleged CTD Punjab official, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the motive behind the abduction attempt and the official's actions.
Authorities are also examining whether the official was acting independently or under orders.
